The Squall and The Calmer
by brom21
Rated: E | Poetry | Other | #1870363
A poem about the raging the sea and the one who has power over it.
The Sprit of God moves through the deep 15 lines

Filled with creatures and dead souls that sleep

The waves writhe and the tides rise like a wall

Tempests wreak havoc in a violent squall

The helmsman panics as his vessel is broken

Yet the call to God he leaves unspoken

He fears and dreads his impending death

At last he pleads with his final breath

“God I pray come to my rescue!”

“I admit my sin repent before you”

Then he came and tamed the sea

The storm subdues and quickly flees

At last upon the water is peace

The lone seaman gives then gives praise

To God alone and his merciful ways
