Who Are You?
Who are you beyond this rich moniker adorned?
With wells of ripe wisdom, bred in Socrates
Depths of vision, the Mensa born
Clothed in restless ennui
Who are you shorn beneath veils so adept?
A peasant born in rich manna of Gandhi
Or weaving Midas, foiled paillettes
The gifted touch in causerie
Who are you thus but raw sinew and bone?
Sustenance meted in mites of praise
Humbly praying, craft is honed,
Fed in spirit and accolades
Who are you trembling, thus would you bleed?
Seeping ink, cauterizing a memory’s lesion
Impenetrable, but cleansing debrides
Of tested faith in paragon
Who are you as the wind touches your face?
Sensing miracles in peaceful submission
Your sojourns rich in gifts of grace
Or cynic void of intuition
Who are you when you muse, reality kneading?
Sculpting your truth in deep shielded tones
Or brightly exposed; reason impeded
Cathartic release fully sown
Who are you when you love, the deity worthy?
Gentle patience and faith eternally wrought
Or cautious pilgrim, parched and thirsty
Lost in lessons never forgot
You are the writer, blessed artist with palette.
Mysterious auras, breathing your vision
Creating persona - lush silhouettes
Boldly defying definition
