Flicker Flick
Theater of the night. |
The theater that abides the night directly overhead, plays movies with those points of light-- those stars, blue, white and red. For they are spheres just like the sun yet very far away; they flicker till the night is done, then wink out in the day. O flick of star in velvet sky, the firmament your screen; a cosmic movie for the eye in Heaven so serene. Yet now and then a cameo of planet in the frame, or shooting star that steals the show with atmospheric flame. And if we point our telescope into your screen so deep, we find a comfort and a hope that we can always keep. When clouds depart and night is clear, a flick is there to see; look up when all those stars appear-- admission still is free. [Rhythm: 8-6-8-6] (Lines 24) PAD May 29, 2012 Prompt 1: theater; stars |
