A funny, tongue-in-cheek poem for the feminist in us all!
The girls gather around the campfire,
their faces glowing reddish
from the bouncing flames.

One girl stands. She claps her
hands and waits until all
eyes are on her.

"We have borne this oppression
long enough!"

Every head nods as the speaker
holds their common enemy
up for all to see.

"No longer will we be tied
down to images of thin waists,
blonde hair and big boobs!"

"Hear! Hear!" The crowd yells
in excitement.

With a happy cackle, the speaker
spears the cursed object
with a campfire spit.

The group erupts into a frenzy
as they watch the plastic spin
and begin to melt.

Soon, the doll is
unrecognizable - even
that trademark smile
is now melting from her
lovely face.

Who knew it would
end this way?

Barbie - burned at the stake.
