What is Love
by Hiro
Rated: 13+ | Essay | Romance/Love | #1870787
What does it mean to be in love?
What does it mean to be in love? Is it the sexually active lust we feel or is it something more? When two people fall in love, do they always last forever? Is it a bond so powerful that it can transcend even lifetimes? Could it be that its always just two? Has it been that true love is something you share with multiple, or just one other? That significant other. In Sternberg's triangular theory of love, it is a must to have intimacy, passion, and commitment. But if that is so, then what about the ones that love but do not receive it. Does that mean that its not love? Is the pain they feel in their heart when they aren't around their unrequited mean its an illusion? With Helen Fisher's theory, it is said to be 4 factors for love to be realized. Imprinting, attraction, attachment, and oxytocin. And if that is so, then what about the intimacy? Is it an illusion that sex is the deed that forever binds the two? Is sex just a fun activity or a contract? There are many who have sex with multiple people but they do not last. There are ones who save themselves for the one just for them. And many need it to be a window to see in the picture they create, to see if that one they have made "love" to, is in it. How do you know if the person is just for you, is really just for you? Could it be that there are many? People sometimes wait for that person just for them, and others haste. Some relationships last and others don't. What if the one's last really isn't the someone just for you, and the ones that don't are? Is love that complicated, or is it really simple? Some say it's magic, others say it's a chemical reaction. Which is it? Is it both? And how do you know if you like someone, or if you love them? Could it really be as simple as the happiness or the lack of pressure? When I think of love, I see it as simple, but it is also complicated. Love to me is that joy you feel just being by them, how your heart floats. They don't need to know you love them but sometimes you do. The pain you feel inside when they aren't by you, that is love. When your heart flutters because they look at you, or smile. That you can love them unconditionally, even though it hurts you, even though they hurt you. Love is a form of energy that is all around us. As sometimes even though they are the person just for you, you aren't the person just for them. Love is bonds and bods are fragile. True love last and is more powerful than lifetimes, and earthly attachments. Even when love passes on from the earth it is still here, and it may come in a new form. Love is complicated, but it is simple. It is an illusion but it is real. It is magic and it is science. And yet, we must still ask... what is love?

What do you this love is? Tell me your opinion. XD
