Rated: E | Fiction | Emotional | #1870866
A short on when its time to throw in the towel and just leave. Please enjoy
“Hey good girl” looking up form her desk, Olivia meet eyes with Ava, one of her coworker.
She work at a high end department story as a buyer. She had just started a few months ago but was starting to second guess herself on all this as Ava came up. She was trying to have a peaceful lunch, guess that wasn’t going to happen.
“Hello Ava” she was as polity as she could be. “How are you”
“As good as I can be with everything that I have to do, you so lucky that you have such a small job.” she said as she sat down and plunked a strawberry from her lunch box.
“Help yourself” she said tightly.
“Thank you, your just sweet.” she said with smirk, “I do have a reason for talking to you”  No, really, she thought.
“What would that be.”
“ I need you to do me a favor. I have a very important meeting to go to and I was wondering if you would take my place at the dinner meeting with that designer”
“Alexander Monroe, the furniture and china designer” how do I know that you don’t, Olivia thought.
“Yes, him, you just need to get him to sign the papers, no big deal, should easy enough for you.”
Olivia desperately wanted to give this woman a piece of her mind but Ava was her boss’s favorite so she couldn’t. Including she would not go down to her level. Ava knew nothing about her and she was much better than she was.
“Fine, I’ll do it, enjoy your meeting”
“Oh, I will” she said smiling. Olivia raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything.
Why did she feel like she had been had. Whatever, taking the rest of her lunch and went back to her desk. Thankfully, Ava had left all the paperwork on her desk. After finishing a few loses ends she made her way home. Taking a deep breath as she step inside. She was home, she was safe from everyone who didn’t know her and didn’t care to know her.
Sighing, she went to the kitchen putting her things down on the table, she got a cup of water and sat down to look over the papers. She notice right away that the set up and prices were not right, this was not the same thing she wanted to present to a client. She didn’t have a chose anyway, her boss had already signed off on it. Olivia just shock her head and went to get ready. She chose to ware a deep green dress with lace over the bodice and cap sleeves. Once done with her hair, she collected everything and made her way to the restaurant.
“Hello, How may I help you” the perky hostess”
“Yes, there should be reservations under the Cooper Group”
“Okay, one second.” she checked her book. “Um, sorry I don’t see it” Olivia smile dropped.
“Oh,” please tell me she didn’t. “Try Ava Spring”
“No, not here” she said again with a sad smile. It seemed she had one person on her side. Ava did, that was completely unprofessional.
“Tyr Alexander Monroe” a deep voice said from behind her.
She slowly turned to see a tall aristocratic looking man, who did not look very happy. Ava should have know better and put the reservations under the company or her name not the clients.
“Um, yes. Pleas follow me.” hanging her head she followed the two to the talkbe.
“Where is Ms. Spring?”
“ She had something come up at the last minute and asked me to take her place.” she said as pleasantly as she could with the mans cold eyes starting at her.
“And you are?” he said annoyed.
Olivia couldn’t help the filch at his tone. This was not going well. She had never knew that he could be so cold and rude.
“Olivia Diaz, I’m also a buyer, I just started a awhile ago.” she stuttered a bit.
“Whatever, lets hurry this up. I have things I need to do.”
“Sure, you just need to sign off on the contract and check over the design and we will be done.” and hopeful never have to meet again.
A waitress came up to take their drink orders. She ordered tea and he ordered a glass of wine. She just need to get through this.
“This isn’t what was agreed on, this design is horrible.” he throw the papers across the table, a few came at her face. “I’m not signing that.”
“Alright, Maybe we could discuss what changes….”
“I’m not discuss anything with a simple intern.”
That was it, she had done nothing to deserve this guy to treat her like this. It was just his false sense of  being better then her.
“Understood. In that case I will just leave.” she stood up and gab all her things except the contract, he could have it himself.
“What?” he sounder almost shocked.
“Yes, it seems that you would much rather be with someone you feel that is important and since you have decide that I’m not. Even though you don’t know me and what I do. I will not bother you anymore and you can contact my boss in the morning and discusses things with him.”
With that she walked out, she was sure that she saw the hostess giver her a thumbs up. She wanted to cry, was this how her job was going to be. How all her clients were going to be. Olivia wasn’t sure if she could handle this. She was tried of always being walked over and spoken to like she was of no importance. Finally getting home, she checked her messages.
“Hey honey, its mom, just calling to see how you were doing and if everything was going good at your job. Love you, miss you. Talk to you later.”
Sighing, Maybe its time to go home and think about something’s.
