In Bloom
A poem about a single flower, but more than just a flower. |
| A single flower emerges from the earth The first resident of a barren landscape Knowing only darkness since its birth It finds the light for the first time since its escape The warmth of the sun drawing it from the cold ground Where it rested long dormant waiting for its moment to rise Its arrival unheralded, passing without a sound Betraying the bright colors unseen by another's eyes It opens, allowing all to look upon it for the first time It shares its beauty with those who have known only pallor Beaming brightly in the sun it concludes its climb Proudly displaying the strength of its color Enjoining others to follow and unveil their own story The flower blooms in all its wondrous glory |
