~What's Your Savior?
Rated: E | Short Story | Emotional | #1872356
What are you depending on to fill the void in your life?
It’s the beginning of summer and for some reason it felt like autumn.  Once again she was awoken to the frigid chill across her body that caused her to not only turn the fan off but also reach for the most comfortable quilt she has ever owned.

The ruffled edge always tickled her nose as she tucked it under her chin and pulled it tightly around her body as if she were wrapping herself in a burrito shell.

Just then the Holy Spirit whispered something that caused her heart to flutter like the butterfly’s wings and her spirit to dance like the eagle soars.  He said, “Can you remember when the only comfort you found in those covers were within the arms of another?”

Oh how she had long forgotten that time so long ago when all she desired was to be held by a man.  Many sleepless nights would pass and even though the “quilt” was warm, the “bed” was comfortable she recalled the only “song” in  her heart was loneliness.

This time the recollection of times past brought her joy and not sorrow.  Oh how she has grown throughout these past years!  Being alone was not lonely anymore.  Being cold was not missing the arms of another.  Being joyful was not found only in the presence of human companionship.

Can I ask you a question?  Think for a minute before answering ok.  Take a moment and scan your life right now and ask yourself, “What is my savior?”  Would you have to capitalize “Savior?”  Because if you wouldn’t then Jesus Christ is not yours.

Don’t spend too much time on why He’s not, just sit for a while and analyze what you are going through.  Many as myself a few years ago might long for another’s arms to hold them, another’s words to comfort and console them, another’s touch to reassure them that they are loved.

What I am praying for you right now is this, “If you’ve known Jesus in an intimate way and you have fallen into the trap of “physical need” please, no matter how hard, no matter how impossible it might seem right now, release that person and grab hold of the hand and heart of the only Man that could ever satisfy your deepest longing.  Allow Him to wrap His loving and healing arms around you and feel the warmth of His comfort.  Don’t rush away, He’s never too busy for you and He never has a time limit on your visit.”

So many of us fall into the pit of loneliness and we choose not to climb out.  Loneliness is a spirit that will not only consume your every thought it will also cause you to reach out to the wrong person and you won’t only be lonely you’ll also be left desiring what you are “still” lacking from another, and another and yet even another. The fulfillment you are not obtaining cannot at this point in your life be found in any one human. You must seek healing from the one Person that has it in His capable hands just for you.  A Divine tailor-made plan written just with you in mind.  His divine way, in His divine timing and by His divine power.

When the heart is weak from injury and all that you can see are the eyes of another human you “must” look to a  higher power and find your healing from within.  Jesus is the only One who can heal your heart’s most deepest wounds no matter how deep, no matter how bruised, no matter how long you have been hurting.  A complete healing, a complete restoration, a completely renewed .

Not the you used to be, but a brand new you.  More aware of His devotion and love for you His precious one.  He loves you with an un-ending, never ceasing, to infinity love.  A love that transcends all time and space.  A love that is “always” there.  A love that causes mountains to move and waters to part.  A love that causes birds to sing and flowers to bloom and the sun to shine even in the deepest darkest recesses of your heart.  A love that holds you close, hears your words, and never turns away.  A love that writes poems, sings songs and always causes a sweet melody in your heart even when you are alone.  A love that knows what you are thinking, watches over you even when you sleep and wakes you up each morning with the kiss of His Word on your lips!

Where can you go, who can you turn to, how can you find a love like this some may be asking ... He’s here, He’s there, He’s everywhere you are.  If you don’t know Him ask He’ll introduce Himself.  If you do know Him and you have strayed ... repent and come back into His loving fellowship.  If you are on fire and in love with Him ... He’ll take you even higher, ever deeper into His divine chamber and cause your fire to burn even brighter.  Just remember, He’s a gentleman and will not “push”  you must come to Him with a willing heart.

What’s your savior? Reach out for His hand.  Run into the arms that love you unconditionally. Allow Him to fill the void you feel with His love.  I found it in Jesus!  You can too!

~Deuteronomy 32:39~
“See now, I myself am He; there is no other god but Me: giver of death and life, wounding and making well: and no one has power to make you free from My hand.”
