My Quiet House

Late at night in my house you can find peace and quiet.  It is the time to sit and think about the day, focus on an issue, or even sit quietly and pray.

I like the serenity of my house because it brings me calm.  No matter what my day was like I find quiet and peace in my house.

My house is old and been through a lot. It came alive in 1906, and has housed lots of families before me, but deep within me, I know it was built just for me.

I know its night sounds and its day sounds even when it is filled with family and friends.  It's reassuring to be in my quiet house even when it is only me.

My quiet house is not a mansion, but it is big.  So big that I mostly stay just on the first floor where I'm most comfortable and most at home in my quiet house.

Sometimes it creeks or makes a settling noise, but that pretty much stopped years ago as it settled in to being just a quiet old house for me and family.

The many colors that have adorned the walls sometimes show through when it needs a paint job.  I am sure that beneath its many coats of paint it has a story to tell of days gone by, but instead it just stands quietly from day-to-day being my quiet house.
