Today I was watching a bug, this poem came to me as it ran around at my feet.

Little bug
Little bug
Under the same sun
What have you done
Why do you flee
Away from the likes of me
Where are you going
Where have you been
I am envious of you my friend
Your life is about survival
And absolutely nothing else
You feast of those
Weaker than yourself
You consume all that they are
Devoid of any and all regret
You are unable to feel sorry for them
Or more importantly for yourself
I could chase you down
Back into your darkened hole
I could pull you out
Exposing you to the burning light
I could smash you under my foot
Easily crushing you
From all that is yet to be
But fear not
Little bug
Little bug
I will not…
