A strange poem about pyramids and the ideas behind why they were built via my mind. |
-Pyramids In The Sand- by Keaton Foster Monuments of men False God's of superior logic All living within The wrong time and space They should have known But I fear they refused Their hands stained with blood The backs on many Broken under the weight applied Doomed long before they set all That they planned into motion Pyramids in the sand Far out into a distant land Marking what humankind For a time was truly capable of Under the thumb of another Men, turned slaves Traitors to a skewed sense of belief In the eyes of those holding the whips Triangular sides built from rectangles Racing from the unrelenting ground To an infinite point in the forgiving sky From a thousand miles below And a thousand miles above Their magnificence screams Inside many secrets do reside Outside many failed truths Have since begun to crumble down Lost languages And names no longer spoken Adorn many fractured walls Empty jars of life are now full of dust Angry wind from barren lands Is slowly destroying them Eons of time have silently passed Further wearing them down Like a child carrying An ever-increasing load They stand no real chance Humankind have since changed All matter and material But such temples to false God's Are foolishly still being erected Dangerous influences of greed and wealth Flourish unaffected Time has done nothing to solve The issues of human decay Many of men have come Sure that they were indeed the one And that all they knew was right Ultimately, they were proven To be unequivocally wrong Ultimately, they were destroyed A lesson to be had A lesson continually ignored Building monuments To false God's of superior logic Has taught us nothing… Pyramids In The Sand Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
