The Ghost
Rated: ASR | Poetry | Emotional | #1873579
The sad truth of bitter loneliness resulting from Asperger's.
The bright cheery faces
So young and carefree
But no one will notice
What they choose not to see.

The ghost in the hallway
Roams restlessly
Bitter and empty
Forever lonely.

You stand invisible,
As the people pass by
Happy and laughing,
They don't see you cry.

Try to speak out
But no voice can be heard
Screaming and pleading,
They don't hear a word.

You once had a heart,
But it faded away,
For without someone's love
It was quick to decay.

To live or to die,
You don't care what you choose
For you have long known
There is nothing to lose.

No soul to redeem
No reason to dwell
Already a ghost
Left to burn in your Hell.

Less than a shadow
Less than a thought
What is never known
Cannot be forgot.
