Writers Garden New Member Guide

This is a guide to welcome new members into our group. Step by step side:

Encourage all new members to complete the joining survey; that way we can get a sense of what they're interested in.
Add them to the group.
Send out a first email to the new member. (1)
Send out a group email on the same day, encouraging members to get to know the new member. (2)
After several days email the new member to ensure they know about the reviewing process, what they can earn and how. (3)
After a few more days email again with links to the writing side of our group. (4)
Final email comes with a reminder that we're there for any questions and with a link to the anniversary & birthday forum. (5)

Email One

Hey, {user: }, welcome to the Writers Garden! I'm really glad you chose to come and be a part of our fantastic group. I've got lots to tell you but rather than bombard you, I'll send a little bit of information at a time but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

The first stop is the Writers Gazebo:

This is the place you can come to socialise, chat with other members, ask questions and just generally see what is going on!

Email Two

Hey guys I'm just sending out a quick group email to let you know that we have a new member! Please welcome {user: } into the group!

He/she has joined us because he/she likes reviewing/writing/meeting people.

Give a warm welcome with a notebook scribble, a c-note or a review. It'll be much appreciated!

Email Three

You're probably getting to grips with things now but I wanted to email and make sure you know about the reviews we do. Reviews for the Writers Garden are an important way to get our group name out there and help raise gift points.

So first up we have the Tea Garden:

This is the place where people in the Writing.com community can come and purchase review package for themselves or someone one. As you can see, they're all beverage themed!

Once a package is ordered it is written out in the Garden Gazebo Review Board:

Go and take a look Okay, so you can see how things work there. If there's a package to be done there, it'll be listed under the person's name with the number of reviews needing done.

If you do a review note down the review number (which is different from the item ID) and post it into the forum using the review link. If you need any help with linking reviews just let me know.

The rest is done by us! We'll mark off the review in the Review Board and make sure you get the gift points you deserve for all your hard work.

You can do other reviews too. For example, if you read something on the site and plan to review it, if you affiliate it the the Writers Garden you will get gift points too.

As long as your reviews are group affiliated, contain a sig (or a sentence line if you can't use images) and are 250 characters or more in length, you'll receive gift points!

Every review you do goes towards your score. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the month gets the Member of the Month Award which includes a Merit Badge, 5,000gps and a mini port raid:
