A butterfly kissed my skin
Landing on me within
This wilderness of id
How sweet of a gift
I must remit
Forever its love
I will sadly miss
But I cannot accept
All that it intends
Is far more than a man
Like me can comprehend
I must set it free
On the wind
It must always scream
Soaring far beyond
All that can ever be
It must escape my presence
Leaving me here as I am
A conflicted creature
That cannot accept things
Of such undeniable beauty
It offers me no harm
But by doing as much
It puts me at risk
In ways that go far beyond
Change sometimes comes
For those of us who cannot
Take the chance required…
