Word of the Day
Rated: E | Article | Opinion | #1875463
An opinion driven article about being selfish.
Word of the day...Selfishness

Definition: A weapon used against self, friends, lovers and family.

Selfishness can used in order to bring one desires, wishes, wants, needs and material gain. We use it often and it's often used against us. Selfish Warfare is very common in the lives of many, many humans all over the world. Although every species in our existence utilizes selfishness to their own liking in some form or another.

"I want" and "I need" are common phrases associated with selfishness. These stapled words become an arrogant importance in our daily lives. It has also been known to cause ourselves to accidentally sabotage our own lives in so many ways.

Selfishness has been known to develop into a disease. A nasty disorder that can debilitate the ones that carry its affliction. One with this sickness can expect thrilling things in its beginning stages, such as happiness, elation, pride and satisfaction.

A variety of things can be obtained through to the end stages, which are not as fulfilling as that of the beginning. Guilt, remorse, sadness, hurt and even sometimes loneliness can plaque selfish users after long periods of time. We use this against love ones, often times people don't even realize they are wielding it.

Husbands use it against their wives -- eventually over-throwing their children as well. Wives use it in return to make them pay for the hurt they've been gifted with.

It's a vicious cycle that will spin until the end of time....speaking of which, may indeed bring the end. Please learn to live without selfishness. I believe our lives would be more fulfilling without it.
