Water Maid
dream line spurred the poem, which also contains bits of a break-up |
| Water Maid An ocean of tears flood her face Ravaged and scarred By Man's un-grace. Old ranges brought down new slopes born Old feelings unleashed new hopes torn. Throughout the forest comes the rain To wash her body, its new terrain. I wander her contours caress each new crease And know why I've come here: to love her in peace. We have trashed our world and will pay the cost For in the scramble our souls have been lost. And I love her enough to let her go (It's an old cliche' O! Yes! IKnow.) Heaven sends tears the law by God laid No healing until water on Water's made. |
