The Night Light
A Poem A Day contest, 7-5-12, no prompt. |
Total darkness engulfs the world. Here, the quiet moments are tangible. Even the critters pause in wonder. Night time is a unique occurrence. In the midst of it one can find peace. Ghostly shapes in the trees might bring a chill. Hooting owls can sound like screams of agony. Then there is the hint of hope the light will return. Like a wave the darkness is parted. Into its presence descends tendrils of luminosity. Grass replaces the mysterious glob of darkness of yore. Heavenly light shines and lends its assistance. The trail is again visible and off you trod, continuing on your way, with God's marvelous NIGHT LIGHT leading the way. The Night Light; so small in scale; provides much needed direction and one is reminded anew of the marvelous NIGHT LIGHT the Lord provides His creation in the heavenly moon, beaming so brightly on this quite night in Glen Iris, Australia.Psalm 136:9 Photo by Tracy Blakiston, Glen Iris, Australia The Night Light by Steve Cope 05-10-2010 16 lines |
