A Gift from Afar
Rated: E | Poetry | Family | #1877999
After a very long wait the temorary return of my brother
                    A Gift From Afar

He stood there most serene, vision to the eye.
Subtle smile framed his face, ever-handsome guy.
Feature apparent, Till now I had not seen
A peacefulness was his, where stress had once been

He opened his arms wide, and held me again.
Eyes blinded by tears, return of my best friend.
Brother  through the years, walked with me all the way.
At last came to see me, with little to say.

Words were not needed; we knew each other well.
Things that  happened since, were not mine now to tell.
Just to cast my eyes on his familiar face,
Answered all questions, with one holding embrace.

Morning would come too quickly; must not let him go.
Once this gift was opened, I would walk alone.
I sleep with gratitude, for what came to be..
Visit from my brother, who was taken from me.

With regret I move from our fraternal hold
Temporary is this little gift of gold.
Mystery and wonder it came to be seen
Evening of joy, merely a beautiful dream.
