You’ve Got Your Jesus
A special religious poem about the faith of those who believe and those who do not. |
-You’ve Got Your Jesus- by Keaton Foster You’ve Got Your Jesus You’ve got your faith The powers of dismay Allow you to see reality In such a naïve way I wish it was all as simple As a willingness to believe I wish the powers of faith were enough But I know that is not the case How could it ever be I want no part of it The risks are far greater than I wish You are certainly no fool But you are playing Quite a dangerous game One with monumental risk One that I myself could Never begin to understand I spend each day of my life Walking upon blasphemies line God is bored with my logic His refusal to hear anything else From me has become My greatest defense mechanism Certainly he could smite me down Easily killing me in place Easily wiping me from existence Destroying my earth bound shape The vengeful nature of his ways Once powerful in every way Have since been replaced Understanding is his new way Freewill is the only truth he knows He could take all that I love away Making it damn near impossible for me But I am confident that he will not How could he ever This life, both yours and mine Are parts of a greater experiment Parts of a greater calamity He equally loves us as the mistakes we are You’ve got your Jesus Your chosen god of one and the same I have nothing more than I need And nothing more than I want All that is good needs something bad All that is right is only known Through an understanding of what is wrong Comparing and contrasting beings And the predicaments faced Allows for the master of all things To understand that his carefully laid plan Is just as flawed as it is perfect… You’ve Got Your Jesus Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
