Stroke Room Trilogy--part 2
Rated: E | Poetry | Family | #1879019
Speaking of ultimate issues facing death and the power of family
Bats in a cave
use echolocation
to fin d bugs for dinner.
They also use it to find
wayward progeny
lost in the million bats.

James.
Harriet.
John.
Is that you?
Bats as mammals seek
To nurse their young.

We seek to find
each other in serious illness
or injury.
Is there one last chance
to say how much you mean
to me.

Life can be terrifying and confusing—
a sad-filled ending
to meaning given by God.
The family has received the message.
They are all here
to share the song of life,
echoing from the rafters
as great grands
run down the hospital wing.

God has always sung a message to us.
They are words we have heard before.
It is a tune of many parts,
concluding with the part
that brings us home
to be nurtured.

This is a song of power,
ready for this, and every hour.
