With Twilight 'Til Dawn

You detect the faint scent of lavender wafting across the air. The incense helps to drown out the musty aroma of aging paper, but you're still quite aware that you're above a library. The sheets and mattress beneath you are surprisingly soft. Like you're being cradled atop an ocean of warm marshmallow.
Twilight Sparkle approaches the bed, her hooves softly thump thump along the floor. You can tell she's nervous, no matter how hard she tries to mask it. The soft smile is more for her comfort than yours. You can almost feel her hesitation in climbing into her own bed.
Finally, the purple pony joins you in the warm, silken embrace. She, at first, remains on the far side of the bed. Reluctantly, she scoots closer. She's still facing away from you. You can just barely hear the nervous flutter of her heartbeat, a sound obscured by her shallow breaths.
After a bout of awkward silence, the pony speaks. "I, uh, don't normally do this kind of thing." What a silly thing to say. This was her idea, after all.
Twilight twiddles her hooves a bit longer, then finally musters the courage to make a move. She rolls over and wraps her forelegs around you, resting a hoof on your shoulder. The embrace is, at first, loose. Just seconds into it, she lets out an adorable whimper and squeezes you tightly.
You can feel her short fur on your face and neck. Twilight's body heat flows through you. Her warm breath rolls across your flesh. She nuzzles your neck affectionately, then kisses your cheek. A happy sigh escapes her lips when you don't move to stop her. A faint whiff of butterscotch rides on her breath, masked in part by a minty fragrance.
"Thank you," says the purple pony. "Thank you for coming over, for being here. Sometimes, I forget how lonely it can get here. It's been so long since I just held someone this way."
After several minutes of constrictive clinging, Twilight Sparkle relaxes a bit. She adjusts her position to one more comfortable for sleeping, for the both of you, and rests her head on your chest. Her hoof lightly strokes your shoulder.
"Before we fall asleep, I want you to promise me something," says Twilight. She sits up and looks you in the eye, at last wearing a genuinely happy expression. "Promise me we can do this again."
