A special poem dear to my heart about my two amazing kids and Gods gift to me.

Little
Small
Wondrous
Wide eyed
The world
For them is new
For me it’s used
I am their hero
They look up to me
When others don’t
They, each one of them
Are the better part of me
If my life
The one often made hard
Damn near impossible
Was to end right here and now
I would know that I
Did something undeniably right
My children will be more
Then I could have ever wished
They will grow to be good
Understanding, compassionate souls
In a world that at times
I have become convinced there are none
God gave me a gift
When I was sure
I was meant for none
His single act of kindness
Has brought me
And my faith full circle
Now I truly understand
With clarity, I see his plan
I believe in it more than any
I was born
Brought into an unwanted existence
I went through hell
Each step taught me more
And I knew long before his gift
That the life I was shown by those
Who should have loved me most
Is not what I wanted for those
I would have a chance to love for my own
They are my responsibility
My precious children
The better part of me
That will always be
I will never betray that which I was given
When I needed something most of all
God has blessed me
And in turn taught me
A handful of important lessons
That will pass from me to them
This life, mine, means more than before
More than ever thought possible
They love me when few ever have
I love them with all of my being
In their eyes I see my reflection
In their eyes I see
The better part of me…
