Angela
A poem about an errant little girl and the lesson she never really learns... |
| Angela There once was a girl named Angela but no Angel was she. All the day long, she whined and cried for no friends had she. You see, Angela was mean, rotten and bold. Some would even say down right spoilt. But wait! What do I see? Oh who could that be? The people cry, "We're here to help!" "So there's no need to yelp." "We'll teach you to be caring, nice and all about sharing." The good people toiled, working finger to bone But all Angela did was moan, moan, and groan. She cried, "Why!!" Every time they'd try... She'd yell, "I don't wanna!!" And the people implored, "You gotta..." She'd whine, "You can go for this isn't swell." The people tsk, "Oh, well, well, well...." "We gave it our best with no time to rest... But try as we might, you put up too big a fight." All the people gave up and left. Angela cheered giving a victory wave with a mighty heft. It didn't take long for her to once again moan At being left all alone she groaned and groaned. She cried and begged, "someone please take pity on me..." Try as she might the people wouldn't answer her plea. No one would listen for no one cared... Cuz, Angela only hurt everyone who dared. So you see boys and girls heed my warning... Remember to be kind, caring, and sharing all night, noon, and morning. Don't be like the girl named Angela for no Angel is she.... |
