The Forgotten Heart
Rated: E | Poetry | Other | #1882111
Another poem I wrote in those few days that all go together.
The heart is gone now,
Torn asunder,
With nothing left,
To love or grieve.

The heart once felt,
Now be dead,
In a graveyard all's forgotten.

And yet who cares, who remembers,
Pain that cried a river,
The tears were shed but now are dry,
The soul just like a desert.

I found the key ,
Deep in the depths,
To survive the every breaking heart.

You see...

If you numb the heart,
You numb the pain,
Without the pain no need to break.

Yet, within an empty soul,
The pain seems so much greater,
With no tears to shed,
No pain to dread.

The ever breaking heart it seems,
Cannot compare,
To the heart that’s dying and all's forgotten.
