We were young & bold
    And thought we would never grow old.
We were friends forever,
    No matter what the weather.

Like Batman & Robin,
    Snoopy & Charlie.
The Lone Ranger & Tonto,
    And Laurel & Hardy.

We were friends to the end.
    Just blowing with the wind.
I thank God now
    I had a friend like U.

To live life free
    And just hang out & be.
Time has passed
    And those times didn’t last.

We went different paths.
    Now distance holds us back.
But I still thank God,
    I had a friend like U.
