A Whitney poem about summer fireworks.
Blackest night
is shattered by
flowers of
cascading sparks;
stars explode
across the sky
and fill my chest with thunder.

Note: this is a Whitney poem written for the poem-a-day contest. It has a syllabic pattern of 3-4-3-4-3-4-7.
