Wrote it a contest on WDC and for the fun of writing.
As I sit here by myself,
I see people around me
Most of them are my age
Just sitting there, quiet

I want to talk to someone
But would they accept me?
Would they make fun of me?
Or forget I’m there

Groups gather in their packs
Chatting and laughing
I am a loner, left
With only my thoughts

I don’t have the courage to speak out
Too timid to walk over
So I sit alone, hanging on to my doubts
They would never understand me

Even when I’m in a group activity,
I often feel invisible
If I walked away, they would
Never see me leave or care

But I can’t stay this way
What can I do
What can I say
I’m sick of being shy
