A special poem about finally knowing my place the reasons why God has tested me as he did.

The sky is bright
Darkness behind
Ahead is light
A cascading hope
Forever will it grow
Never again
Will I know pain
Never again
Will I feel shame
I’ve done nothing wrong
Except survive
God’s lesson seemed harsh
At times
Above all he wanted me
To have faith
Maybe not in the present
But certainly
In the future
The future is now
In this present place
And my faith
Tested and true
Is stronger because
Of all that I had to do
To get to such a place
To such a life devoid
Of darkness in every way
Dancing in the light
Touching my face
It feels like heaven
I am not deceased
My heart still beats
More alive
Than I have ever seemed
I scream for God
And the world to hear
No longer do I have any fear
No longer is my faith weak
Like a mountain it stands
Every lesson
Good, bad or indifferent
Has allowed me to climb
To the peak of my existence
I have so many that love me
My lovely wife
My adoring children
The savior of my ways
But most of all
Beyond all that they
Are truly capable of
I love myself
Who I am
What I’ve become
And all that was done
To get me to here and now
What was once the future
Is now my present
My glorious point of reference
Dancing in the light
I will celebrate my life
Every bit of it
From now on…
