Granny!
Relatives there, As we reached inside, Daddy with an inquisitive eye, Whispers in his ear, From those who were near, A glimpse of her fainting, Caught my eye for a spare, A worried look became his face, Off to the bedroom, His heart arace. Soon our names bawled, Amidst the chatters in the air, An ambulance called, The room we entered, My brother and I, To see our grandmother about to die. I was, Perplexed and seven, As she was rushed, To those in white. Rosaries read, "Don't let her die", I said. Phone rang abruptly. And those who'd went had came. Uncensored tears, Reeled from eyes, Twas the first time I saw, My father cry, And as sadness filled, Once cheerful air, I grasped my memories, To keep near.
