Nostalgia
Rated: E | Poetry | Relationship | #1885179
A man tries to come into terms with a love he lost.
The sun shines on your pretty face
Revealing a glitter of beauty within your deep brown eyes
My heart skips a beat and then a pace..
But then, I realize: this is all a lie

I wake up from this fantasy of mine
This love is nothing but the past
You were nothing but red wine
Happiness which didnt last.

For the sake of my sanity
Which no longer feels secure
From your heartbreaking vanity
I will find a cure

I will break free from this tyranny
Of love and despair
And live forever happily
With whom none can compare

So how does it feel like
To no longer control
A heart that would have hiked
Everest and beyond
