Bananas
Rated: E | Poetry | Nature | #1885604
We take them for granted.
Bananas

Grown in a jungle, monkeys lured,
ravenous creatures eat until bored.
Natives climb high to get to this fruit,
profits made, no wearing a suit.

Picked before ripe, a color of green
stashed in boxes on ships unseen.
Coming into port, loaded on trucks
to fill a hundred orders, big bucks.

Restaurants, grocers and warehouses galore
sell to the public with wide open doors.
As mom and dad prepare for a meal,
kids take for granted bananas in cereal.
