Feeling reminiscent when analyzing one’s life.
Trapped

I've lived my life sitting on a bridge,
Not moving forward and not jumping in.

I've seen people soar and I've seen people drown.
But sitting stone still, I was safe on the ground.

No risk. No pain. No falling in.
No rush. No thrill. Not now, not then.

Now I question the icy water.
What will become of my mother's daughter.

I can't move forward and I can't turn back.
Others are watching as I forge my own track.

They love me. They need me. They want me around.
So for now I sit watching from safe on the ground.
