home in heaven
abbreviated version for lighthouse poetry competition. |
| 23 lines. Passing from this life I'm not sure I want go And leave this world I love And the people that I know But I hear a soft voice calling It's a voice I can't ignore And I feel my spirit heightened And I'm a child once more Should I run with swift heels dancing? Like a babe on Christmas day Cause I've waited for a life time To meet him at the gate way Again I hear him calling like a stirring deep within And I follow to the echo of his voice, the gentle king Finally I have reached him and his arms are open wide He is warm and soft to touch and he holds me at his side He sits me at a table, whilst his eyes shine with pride There are others here that I've known all my life I'm in total awe as he breaks the bread, I watch him lift the cup of wine, as he raises his sweet head All around him- sun filters through, flowers sway and deers dance Nothing could ever beat this, not riches or romance "Share this between all of you....He says, and his eyes rest on me He says "My new beloved child has joined us today in Eternity." |
