Mountian Quiet
when I was hurt, I imagined myself out in nature

Moonlight and
jagged green
mountains.

Brisk night air,
making visible breath.

Solitude and quiet abound.
The music of the stillness
begins to calm my frantic soul.

Only here can peace reside.

The fire coarsing through
my veins makes me want to
run until my legs collapse and
my lungs cannot grasp air-
makes me want to
scream so loud that I
shatter the heavens,
That fire can now subside.

The darkness hides my tears.
The mist helps me forget.

The astounding beauty,
and sheer enchantment
of the moment
overcomes the pain.
