If pennies were candies
And candies were dreams
I'd be the richest mama
This world had ever seen
'Cause if I had one wish for the good Lord above
Is that He'd give me a baby,
A baby to love.

A long time ago--when I was just a teen
The doctor he told me no babies for me
I cried and I cried
And I didn't know what to do
I was so sad
I was so blue

And if pennies were candies

'Cause I had one wish for the good Lord above
Is that He'd give me a baby

And miracles happen--
They happened to me
Because I had a wish that was answered from above
Yes I had two babies
Two babies to love
