"Triumph from Tragedy"
(written from 9/18/01 to 9/24/01 - age 17)

The ending
The crumbling
Of the towers tall
Brought so much more together

Bringing out heroes
Bringing out patriotism
Bringing out faith and love
But, bringing out fear.

Sleepless nights
Tear-filled days
Frozen in fear
At the sight of a plane.

But one must pull together
And live life purposefully.
Reach out to help our neighbors,
But don't forget about your "me."

A "me" that can get through this,
A "me" who will survive
A "me" that can make a difference,
That can touch another human life.

'Cause we have so much strength
Each person and as a whole.
Good-bye to how things were.
To how they are now, a big "hello."
