*Sheriff* NPCs *Sheriff*

These are townfolk you might run into -- to keep continuity. They'll likely grow as we do. (Side note, if you do choose one of the occupations I'm filling in, you don't have to play it exactly as I put it, making your own character that you want. This is just to fill in roles, and the town)

~ Miss Maddie: A quiet young woman in her twenties who helps run the general store with her father, Mr. Lawrence. She's quiet by nature, but sticks up for the underdog. [brown hair, hazel eyes, dresses very conservatively]

~ Mr. Thomas Lawrence : (if no one chooses general store owner) A serious man in his fifties who runs the general store. He can seem gruff sometimes, but is actually a pretty nice guy when it comes down to it. [graying hair, typical clothing, very nice felt hat]

~ Mr. Kyle Barker: (if no one chooses the blacksmith profession, or chooses blacksmithing apprenticeship) A friendly guy in his forties who loves his craft and loves to drink. His wife is the stern one in this household. [red hair, red beard, often dirty clothes]

~ Mrs. Eloise Barker: A thirty-something constant nag on her husband, and a strong proponent of getting rid of all alcohol... good luck! [tight red bun, no makeup, conservative clothing]

~ Clint Barker: The eight-year-old joker son of Kyle and Eloise Barker, always getting himself into trouble. [red hair, scuffed up shoes and clothes from getting into nonsense]

~ Sheriff Addison Owens: (if no one chooses the sheriff role) Nearing his sixties, Sheriff Owens is actually pretty laid back, but he will send drunks to jail to think about their life choices. [black, graying hair, tan shirt, cowboy hat, tan pants, nice shiny belt, and even shinier badge]

~ Deputy Jackson Baxter: (if no one chooses the deputy role) Twenty-something upstart who wants Owen's role and wants it bad [black hair, blue eyes, pretty much the same clothing as the sheriff]

~ Doctor Pete Clyde: (if no one chooses the doctor role) Dr. Clyde is one of them city slickers who came to town to start his own practice, and even though he's barely out of his twenties, he does a good job. He's got a steady personality and doesn't drink. [brown hair, nicer clothes than most. [always very tidy with immaculate care of his looks]

~ Pastor Harold Hyde: (if no one chooses the preacher role) A man in his mere twenties, pastor Hyde is constantly trying to preach temperance and peace, but he's in the Wild West. Still, even those of "little to no faith", he's never hit anyone over the head with a Bible or forced attendance. [young, blonde, wears thick glasses]

~ Madame Zhang: A still beautiful woman in her late fifties, Madame Zhang is in charge of the care and "business" of the saloon girls, and she is quite intimidating. [already dressed professionally and often with "Eastern" flair]

~ Miss Hannah Garfield: A young saloon girl who exchanges "goods" for gold (or other currency). She's relatively new to town, but her flirty personality has quickly made her a favorite "friend". [bleached blonde hair, curvy, wears revealing clothing when she's "on the clock"]

~ Miss Tessa Gray: Often seen playing the piano when on break, this twenty-something is often sought after -- but also known to reject certain advances, which can get her into trouble with Madame Zhang. [black, actual rather tame clothing when about town, she frequently changes hair styles from braided to natural, and she has a golden locket around her neck]

~ Undertaker Mr. Arnold Tanner: (if no one chooses the undertaker role) Forty-something Mr. Arnold is of the unpleasant profession of undertaker, although he doesn't seem to mind too much... [pale skin emphasized by his usually black clothing, graying hair]

~ Mr. Franklin Guster: Forty-something Mr. Guster runs the small bank in town. He likes to think he's more important than he is, and some suspect he may be doing something shady with Mr. Gold. Of course, no one is stupid enough to cross him. (blonde, balding, and skinny, he wears thin spectacles)

~ Mrs. Rachel Reynolds: (if no one chooses the boarding house role) Mrs. Reynolds is a thirty-something widow who continues to run the boarding house that she and her husband Allen began. She is reasonable with her prices, but not with a bad or disrespectful attitude, or those who can't pay rent. [brown hair usually in a bun, dressed like a woman in mourning]

Mr. Hiram Gold: Fifty-something Hiram Gold could not have been born with a better name, as some time ago he struck it rich in the hills, and moved to Mountain Springs, for some reason, building a big old house outside of town. He's charismatic and vaguely frightening, and though the Sheriff is technically in charge, when Hiram Gold says "jump" you ask "how high?". [slight paunch, the best clothes, slicked back brown hair]

Mr. Rett Gold: A rowdy jerk in his twenties, he's often drunk, cheats at cards, and looks down on everyone. The only reason he hasn't been shot yet is because his pa basically owns the town. [handsome, brown hair, nice clothes]

~ Mad Garrett Jenkins: (if no one chooses the bandit leader, or decides to be a bandit but not the leader) Fifty-something leader of the feared "Jackal" Gang that occasionally causes problems for the people of Mountain Springs. Nice bounty on his head, too. [rugged, long scar on his face, easily recognizable long black duster]

Etc, etc. There are probably more people than that in the town, but you get the idea. You can create your own "extra" characters; it's just that these guys specifically exist in Mountain Springs, so we all know at least some people to begin with.
