Do you ever take a moment to count your blessings?

On a dark pouring night, I prefer to stay inside. Watching the rain droplets tumble down the windows of my comfortable home. It's especially those kind of nights that make me think. Think about how lucky I am to be able to seek shelter in a place I get to call mine, with cozy lights, a warm blanket, and cabinets filled with food. Think about the people that do not have the same privileges as me. The people that do not get to call the roof they are using to shield themselves from the cloudburst their own. The people that have to beg others to be able to survive. The people that possess the same willpower, aspirations, and ambitions as I do, with the only difference between me and them being that I was born into opportunities and they were not. So when the rain droplets tap on my window, I count my blessings instead of minutes until the storm passes.
