-Brief summary of celestial bodies and the title. |
| Space, as we all know, is vast and open, holding many mysteries yet to be discovered by humans. While it may seem like we have explored space extensively, which is true, we have only scratched the surface. Humans also name celestial bodies after famous mythological figures, which is quite contrasting, while some are named scientifically with numbers and such. An example of this is the famous gas giant, Jupiter, named after the Roman mythological god of the same name. First, before we deep dive into further galaxies or solar systems, let's talk about our solar system to get a brief sense of familiarity.First off we know our Solar System contains 8 planets,5 dwarf planet,1 star and more than 891 moons which I find a bit interesting.First, let's talk about the one we all are familiar with and know about: Planets,we all know planets as big chunk of rocks(some are made off of ice and gas) but they are also called celestial bodies which represent planets, moons, stars, aesteroids, comets, meteors and etc. it basically represents any natural physical object that exists beyond Earth's atmosphere.Planets can form when gravity pulls together gas and dust around a star.(typically young ones)Then they pull rocks and pebbles when they get bigger since the gravity increases based on the mass of the growing planet then they work their way up to aesteroids, meteors until they finally become planets but if it's unfinished they may become dwarf planets. Then let's talk about stars and blackholes and both actually have a relation.First of all, stars are formed very differently from planets, moons or dwarf planets and they instead form from cold gas and dust while needing a lack of heat which is suprising since a star is supposed ot be hot but we will get into that later.Stars begin forming inside molecular clouds which contains those cold gas and dust and you may be asking:what are molecular clouds?Well molecular clouds form when a shockwave from a nearby star's supernova/death compresses the gas and instead gives gravity the upperhand, this can also happen from the gravatational ripple of a passing galaxy. After some time, the gas can turn into pockets of dense gas called denser cores which are the seed for one star or a star system. After that, the denser cores will rapidly pull in much more gas turning them into protostars and as they grow more and more gravity packs much more mass into the protostar, while this the atoms inside slam into each other generating heat and friction and after a couple million years they turn into the stars we all know and have seen.Stars usually take around 10 to 50 million years and it's faster for bigger stars which you thought was the opposite, didn't you?Well you can also identify the heat of a star, red or orange stars are typically the coldest while hottest ones are blue or white.Again, these facts aren't exactly general information and seems to contrast the expectations most of society have. Now,let's move onto blackholes.Blackholes form after a massive cloud, roughly having to be hundreds of thousands times heavier than our sun can suffer instabillity which causes blackholes or a seperate path that requires stars which needs stars to supernova(a giant spherical explosion that happens after a star dies off)but the stars mass have to be much heavier than our Sun.Blackholes are also very stealthy, especially small ones that haven't absorbed light yet. However, you can find these dormant ones by looking if there is a star orbiting wobbily since many blackholes have companion stars and the gravitational force of the blackhole forces the dance/wobble of the orbiting star.Blackholes are very mysterious supernatural entities as they can absorb light that enters their event horizon which is a point of no return for any organic or inorganic object in the observable universe.Blackholes can release Gamma ray bursts which are narrow beams of energy emitting more energy than the sun will ever make in it's entire liftime in just the span of a few seconds and this can happen when a massive star collapses or two neuron stars collide which makes the energy swirl into the Gamma ray burst. These beams can travel nearly up to the speed of light. And that's it for today, thank you whoever for reading this except I doubt anybody would want to read about me yapping about planets and stars but this is the end for this page. |
