CRY, MY BELOVED AMERICA
A personal expression of sadness.

From within the shattered steel and the rubble of stones comes the ghostly cries of voices in the dark;

From crumpled girders, steel, and stones flows the blood of the mother, the father, the sister, the brother, and the child;

From deep within the bowels of earthly dust comes the fearful screams of terror, anguish, pain;

From the morning hour to the dark of the night comes the horrifying roar of mournful sirens, ringing in distant tones;

From the confusion of light and darkness, from the broken hearts and the tearful moans of the lifeless arises the stigma of hatred, war, revenge;

From the mother to the daughter, from the father to the son, from the child to the parents, from the friend to the friend, from the unknown to the known, the ties are solidly unbroken;

Like the sun that rises in the east, like the moon and stars that light up the night, like the laughter that died in the dark of the day, like the brave and the courageous who went on before us, we will become one in mind and spirit, our strength and unity a present defense in the face of terror;

Let the cries echo within our hearts, let the mourning be a reminder of the terror brought within our midst, let the tears flow for our loved ones, and let the sadness be the love to guide us as we stand, united, hands clasped in each other's, confident in our strength, as we forge on and rebuild a future of peace and tranquility;

Cry no more, my beloved America, for your sons, your daughters, your grandhcildren are one with each other in defense of your shores, your land, your mountains, your cities, your villages; but most of all the lives of your people have become a unity of courage, bravery, and honor.
