I'm Listening
I this wrote after an eye opening phone call. I'm not as good as I thought I was.

You going to say I'm not listening...
It hurts me deep inside,
knowing that in me you can't confide.
You know every detail of my exsistence,
but I am far off in the distance.
You could say "I love you" a million times today,
but still you'd push me farther away.
That's one reason why I miss you.
You might say I never listened...
This would be far from the real,
I hung on every word when I kept my lips sealed.
I was afraid of silence.
I know I can lose you in an instantance.
I know that I've lost all resistance.
You could tell me that you are weak...
I would tell you that you're wrong,
I don't know anyone that strong.
I'd like to think we could share anything,
but when the time comes you can't share the pain.
Now I'll tell you...
I just want to be there,
you already know I care.
I want to take any of your pain,
let me take you above the mundane.
I want to see your eyes glisten.
God,give me the power to listen.
