The Prophecy
A poem about love

Listen to me carefully,
Behold the coming prophecy,
Open your mind to subjectivity,
And hear these words I say to thee...

Soon there will come a day,
When the bonds of uncertainty will fray,
And my heart, no longer afraid,
Will whisper in your ear and say:

How I've dreamed of being inches from your lips,
To hold your delicate features in my fingertips,
To gaze upon eyes not unlike unflawed diamond chips,
And witness a beauty with the power to transfix.

Oh, when I'm in the presence of your essence,
Enveloped in an aura of the purest, sweetest fragrance,
Your joys and wonders invade my conscience,
And leave me reeling in a state of transcendence.

We are snowflakes drifting on thermals,
Intricate patterns of the same material,
Our destination in constant turmoil,
To land together we must prevail.

Yet I believe our paths are entwined,
That some day, however briefly, our hearts will bind,
And form a union in which we shall find,
The strongest, deepest love of its kind.

This I feel and hope to be true,
Praying that you feel the same way too,
And if I'm wrong I'll eternally rue,
The chance of ever getting close to you.

But my will is strong, my resolve undying,
And I revel in the act of trying,
Whatever it takes to make you mine,
To be intimate with a woman so divine.

My heartfelt pleas are almost done,
The final verse all bar one,
Sit with me and watch the setting sun,
Hold my hand, touch a love matched by no one.

And hear my prophecy,
These times I foresee for thee,
Embrace them and you shall see,
No soul loves you more than me.
