Caracas

Christmas season reigns near
Twinkling lights of the city
Caracas seems filled with fun and cheer.

Outside it rains and continues to pour
Feel the anguish within the city soar.

Rains, floods, mudslides all around
Everyone rushs to higher ground.

Despair at having lost their home
Children run rampart in the slums!

Time is a healer of most things
Perhaps again when Christmas reigns.
