Fallen Princess
What happens when you have nothing left to hold on to but hope?

Running through the forest,
lost in all the dark looming trees
She searches for the one thing that makes her whole.
Straining against the branches that hinder her way,
blocking her from the peace.
She refuses to quit and give in.
Her hands torn and bleeding,
an outside mirror of inside torture.
Tears stream from her eyes.
Gown torn to shreds,
crown long discarded.
She is no longer haughty,
but desperate and humbled.
All I want is him, she cries to the silent and uncaring army of trees.
When she realizes he is gone from her forever,
she drops to her knees
hope stolen and destroyed without mercy.
