A Stranger No More
Awaiting arrival of a friend never met. Runway lights blurred in the misting rain Allude to smoky thoughts of quixotic candlelight. A foreigner, I know only by name And rumpled photograph. Consistent images of this familiar stranger, A distant lover and ally of mind’s eye, A messenger, sage and guide, Steer me into a setting of sensual bliss. The makings of dreams come true Emotional approval at worldly best Describes the feeling of wonder As the star on my horizon At long last comes introduced in flesh. Persona underlying pen. A terminal of beginning destinations Or the creation of heartbreak endings, I wait in steamy, crowded depot charged with fate. Expectation descends from dreary sky, A setting of electron madness. Disembark, eager searching smiles Will beacon eyes recognize this soul mate? Decide I sprint with hesitation? Shall I know and seize the prize? Is this true intention? A vision of excellence. A feast upon eyes and fingertips! As finally this stranger stands perfect in my sighs Glow mingling in glow, home at last, This stranger, no more.
