"The Inner Cow"
I tried to sell my fear of mice; The cost was low--a pair of dice. I yelled my deal out in the store, And then they kicked me out the door. The sidewalk hurt--I tasted blood. I mooed, and tried to chew my cud. The inner cow in me awoke; I swore off milk and drank a Coke. I got up off the cold concrete, And ran off screaming down the street. I punched a car and broke the glass, And drove it off the overpass. Broken bones and twisted steel, I crawled out from beneath the wheel. I hugged the cop--my long-lost twin, But he stuck me in the looney bin.
