Strength

Tears run like rain
Down her little face
She's given so much
Now there's nothing
Left to give

She is lovingly cradled
In her mommy's arms
Not enough strength to stay
Yet not wanting to leave

Baby, close your eyes,
Mommy's here
It's all right
She whispered tenderly
In her baby's ear

She feels her little one's
Salty tears on her arm
Baby don't cry,
Don't you fear-
You shall know no harm

The little girl looked
At the beloved face
That she had only known
For a short time

I am not afraid, mommy
Don't you cry-
I am not afraid, mommy
Afraid to die
