Release from Hiding
Inspired by Red and Ronda who were very kind to my first poetry effort on this site

Hiding behind a flimsy disguise,
cowering behind a shield of lies,
no one can see the real me,
and thats sad_

Sheltering from the storm,
flinching from life,
no one can see the real me,
and thats sad_

Finding a corner and staying hidden,
finding the world passing me by,
no one looks to see the real me,
and thats sad_

A light on the horizon,
dispelling the shadows,
i look up and out to world,
hope grows_

A wash of dawning purity
a hand offered in friendship,
a hand taken,
hope grows_

Hand in hand a bond is formed,
gentle yet powerful,
words encompase a feeling,
but are inadequate to truly describe it when
friendship and love have arrived_
