The True and Faithful Witness
A vision of a near-future spiritual experience

I stand on a stage
A multitude of people, all eyes fixated on me
Petrified, shaking uncontrollably
Yet no one else can see...

Now I'm standing on the edge of a cliff
As high as Olympus Mons, maybe even higher
Terrified, I just step off
And plunge

I'm falling, falling, FALLING fast
My heart's beating hard
I try to scream, but can't
Seem to believe that it's me

Just as I've prayed a final prayer
My life flashing, flickering before me
I am suddenly stopped in mid-air
Like someone putting this surreal movie on pause

Stunned, I wonder what is going on
And then I begin to float
Gently, gently, gently down
Back and forth, back and forth...

I'm on the stage again
People staring in amazement
As I bare my witness
Of the True and Faithful One, Jesus...

OK, it's a desert now
Standing all alone, nothing but
Miles and miles of sand
Wind's blowing in my face

Now a sandstorm, out of nowhere
Can barely walk, can barely see
Nearly blown off my feet!
Grasping at nothing, pressing
The wind wrestling with me, trying one more step...

Then it just stops
I look up and see the last part
Of the sweeping motion of the Hand of Heaven
Silence

I slowly unbury my face
The desert is disappearing, vanishing
I can actually see the grass growing from nothing
It all unfolds before my eyes
Sand dunes becoming rain forest
Sounds of wildlife all around me
I swear I hear a waterfall, so I run toward it

I see an opening, running, running
Nearly too far! now that's a waterfall

Just as I begin to linger, a voice says,
"Jump, and will I not catch you?
Leap, and will I not hold you?
Open your eyes, my child
Let go and just let Me..."

Back on stage, my voice like a waterfall
Many thirsty people, God has taken over
A fountain in the desert
I see people drinking of the Christ in me

Their hearts spring forth, alive
They thank God
And He grows in them from nothing

If only you could see what I see
