Who Do You Want Me To Be?

Who do you want me to be?
(dedicated to the lost kids)

You tell me I’m dumb and stupid
And expect me to act smart in school
Knowing deep down inside all this belittling
Ain’t cool

I’m your child
Not a pillow for you to beat upon from time to time
And I know you’re stressed with bills, bills and more
Bills
And my brothers and sisters
But I need your attention

Do you want me to do harm to myself or others?

Well, take some time
And unwine
And give me your attention

Don’t you see me crying through my smiles?

You tell me not to let others beat me down
And tell me you are gonna “whoop my butt”
If I let another hit me?
Then you get mad as hell when I
Get thrown in jail for fighting another

Don’t you see me crying through my smiles?
Don’t you feel me breaking down inside

I don’t know who I’m supposed to be
Cuz this life is filled with so much rage
And I want to scream
And no one is listening to my moans and groans

And I’m falling apart inside
